1-6 – Leon’s Plan
Saturday, January 20th, 2007– Commentary –
J.D.: Man, looking at Leon now… he’s such a baby! He matures so quickly once he… meets with the Maintainer. I can’t wait to write more of his maturing process.
Craig: Me too. Especially if it involves the Cat. 😀
J.D.: What do you mean? The Cat loves him… as a plaything.
Craig: Well, that’s not part of the maturing process. Anyway, this page is crucial in both establishing the action of the next few pages and also establishing Leon’s utter obsession with Mythband.
J.D.: I love Jonah. He’s just so grounded in reality. He makes a great foil for Leon. He’s reliable, responsible —
Craig: — a snappy dresser —
J.D.: — you just say that because that’s how you dress.
Craig: He has a job. Jonah plays a large part in the story later on, but after this interaction we don’t much of him for a while.
J.D.: We had a debate on Jonah’s response to Leon’s request for wire cutters.
Craig: Yeah. I thought it would be funnier to end the page with Leon’s request.
J.D.: But I wanted to make it clear from the beginning to the end that Jonah was going to want no part in Leon’s mania.
Craig: Not to mention illegal activities.
J.D.: That too.

Yeah, I like having the question at the end — Probably more cliched that way, but you can almost hear Jonah’s groan and how little Leon cares whether he actually gets help or not (or rather, how little it will change things).
