1-5 – Like a Dance
Tuesday, January 16th, 2007– Commentary –
Craig: My younger brother used be in a band called “Surreal.” The band (unfortunately) didn’t get very far, but they did have a very cool logo, which Leon is wearing in today’s page. At the time, my brother was hosting us on “Draven’s Dungeon.” He was the “Draven” of the dungeon in question. So this was a little tip-of-the-hat to his band at the time.
J.D.: The signs down at the bottom of the page on the desk were also taken from real life. Our college used to have those signs on the library desk, and several others like them.
Craig: Leon’s backpack has a variety of cool items on it, though they’re pretty hard to see. At the top is a succubus wielding a whip, and of course the cool “@” button. I wish I had a button maker… 🙂
J.D.: Between the succubus and the @ button is a patch that looks to be home-made that reads “It’s a game stupid.”
Craig: My other younger brother is in the habit of writing phrases on his bags; I kind of figured Leon did the same thing. The “It’s a game stupid” is a reaction to people who reason that because you do certain activities in games, such as beheading orcs, that predisposes you to do such things in real life.
J.D.: It’s also his commentary to the world of how he thinks people should react when he teams up with them and stabs them in the back. In the game. Of course, I suspect Leon would react very differently if he were the subject of the betrayal.
Craig: Heh. Indeed. I love Leon’s description of his “relationship” with the Maintainer. We find out later that the Maintainer doesn’t feel quite the same way about Leon’s behavior. 🙂
J.D.: I like Leon’s description of his “relationship” with his laptop.
Craig: As someone who often names his computers, I see nothing wrong with that —
J.D.: A date?
Craig: Well, okay —
J.D.: A hot date?
Craig: Yeah, that’s a bit…. wierd… but whatever.

I think this page is hilarious, but the first time I read it I had no idea what Leon was talking about. Ha

Haha. I build my computers, so they become my “children” not “hot dates”.

targeted keywords but I’m not seeing very good gains. If you know of any please share.
