i – Prologue: Shadows
Monday, December 11th, 2006And so it begins. Again. We’ll be publishing a new page about every four days.
— Commentary —
J.D.: I do all the work on the chapter pages, including selecting the excerpt text. This one in particular was an interesting selection, as it was both a reference to the fairy realm, and an apology to those who had been reading the previous version.
Craig: We stopped the originals a bit prematurely (after six pages) because they were taking too long to create, like on the order of a month each. Sometimes more. We decided to restart the series using an art style that we could keep up fairly consistently —
J.D.: — barring life —
Craig: — creating a page about once a week.
J.D.: The one thing Craig helped me with on this page was helping me figure out how to shadow the chapter title on the bottom.
Craig: I always love the font you pick for the titles, and also the “crinkly paper look” you have behind the artwork. It’s especially noticeable on the title page for Chapter 1.
J.D.: Interesting note: You can’t see it, but all the stones in the center ring actually have runes on them that spell out the same runework as Rex’s druid robe we see in the prologue.

I never started reading this comic until it had been going on for a while so its cool being able to “relive” its publishing. Looks great guys, I’m mostly into storyline and character development that I missed all the details in this one. Very interesting, and cool.
