J.D.: I love that panel 6.
Craig: What do you like about it?
J.D.: I can’t really put my finger on it. It just really comes together for me.
Craig: My favorite is panel 4. I love the way Lillith came out. She looks amused and exasperated at the same time.
J.D.: We rarely get to see Tim without his goggles on. He has very nice eyes.
Craig: When I draw Tim, I first draw him without the goggles on. I even draw his expression. Then I draw the goggles on top. It’s interesting that even though his expression is covered by the goggles, it’s still communicated somehow. Like in panel 3, it’s obvious that Tim is pretty frustrated.
J.D.: I think that’s a reworking of the bar behind Lillith.
Craig: A reworking? What do you mean?
J.D.: I mean I think I cleaned up the bar from the previous page, so it didn’t look so — all the labels looked very hand-drawn.
Craig: I see what you mean. It looks a lot more like “printed” labels.
J.D.: Which seemed appropriate to me, given that they’re inside a video game.
